Working pains

Well, I spent the whole day in pain. My hands, particularly my right hand, can’t take the mouse and keyboard anymore. It hurts just to be still.

My biggest concern is that drawing is becoming hard (I have to hold one of my fingers with another finger… what a mess), and playing the guitar is also becoming quite painful. I’m starting to learn some Kung-fu exercises, which are great for stretching and recently I heard about Tensegrity, which, aside from its philosophy, consists of a large number of physical exercises which also promote stretching, particularly of the tendons. If you’re curious go here. I’ve only recently learnt about Tensegrity, so don’t hold me responsible if you find it offensive in some way.

So maybe by practicing these stretching exercises I can overcome some of my tendon problems… my hand mobility is becoming seriously limited and I don’t like that one bit.

Money makes the world go ‘round… what if we run out of coins?

Here we are at a brand new day. Which means yesterday is just barely over.

I’m very tired again. Went to a new client yesterday, walked a lot as per usual. It was what appears to be a good client, or at least, a client smelling of money… we’ll now if they’re a good client after we start working for them, if ever…

Today there’s another meeting… not an entirely new client, but an agency we’ve worked for before presenting us with a new client. It’s weird, but it all checks out in the end. “cheques” being the operative word.

Also yesterday (it seemed just now… maybe it’s because it was!), my wife rented, and we saw, “Antz”… pretty cool movie! What else can I say? It was pretty cool. I particularly liked the bunch of bugs sitting by the fire at night, one of them is eating and goes: “hey! this stuff tastes like crap!” and the other one goes: “yeah? let me try it… you’re right it is crap! good stuff too…” These aren’t exact quotes BTW.

In the meantime I fell in love with one of the tracks in my new Ninja Tune album, it’s track 7 from CD2, by DJ Food, and it’s called… “The Crow”. Man it’s a sensational track! I’ve just been playing it over and over again… the double-bass, the flute, the congas… great, just great! I used to hate everyone who’d stick an “MC” or “DJ” in front of their name… but regardless, DJ Food is one of my favorite artists right now.

Die fucker die!

Since I finished my strip for today I began the process of scanning it, coloring it and uploading it. Three simple steps. Because I take a little longer to color it than do the other two steps, this is usually work for one, to two hours.

Today it has taken me three hours and 45 minutes, 46 reboots and a Windows reinstallation. Therefore, I hereby dedicate my title to Bill Gates. I’m overstressed, tired and frustrated.

On top of everything my ISP is refusing my connection constantly so I still haven’t uploaded the strip.

Needless to say I’m pissed.

Good sunday

Publicado em , por Pedro Couto e Santos

Great Sunday today.

Went out to see a movie. We chose “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”, and we chose well! What a great great movie!

Twisting and turning, good story, good fun. Almost every character is dead near the end of the movie and the end itself is simply fantastic.

Once again a small English movie really turns me on to movies again, sure to become one of my favorites.

After the movie on we went to one of those horrible super malls, filled to the top with people that go there for a stroll, dressed in their trainers and sweat pants with their mobile phones hanging from the waist.

Anyway, we went there to actually buy stuff. I got myself two new CDs: Lamb’s “Fear of Fours”, the new album, which I’m listening to now and another volume of Ninja Tune’s compilations entitled “Ninja Cuts”, this one is called “FunKungFusion” and I haven’t heard it yet.

This is what I call a good day, except for the fact that we have nothing edible at home and all stores are closed…

I’ve just read a cool arcticle on Capitalism, political parties and McDonald’s, it’s worth a look: look here.

23:29 GMT

So I had downloaded 73% of Quake3 Test when I found out that I would still have to download another 23 megs of GL Setup before I could even attempt to play the game.

Isn’t that charming…

I’m so absolutely exhausted… I just want to fall into bed and sleep my ass off for three days. Unfortunantely I have two meetings tomorrow, plus moving furniture so that the blinds men can come in on Saturday and install our new blinds, but not before I got to the gym kill myself with exercise… On sunday we’re going out. hurrah!
